As we all know, cost is relative. It’s pretty likely that your wedding cost a small fortune, but how about a large one? Buzzfeed has come up with a list of the most expensive celebrity weddings. Check it out:

13. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston – $1 million

Despite being Hollywood’s most famous couple at the time, the cost of Brad and Jen’s wedding was relatively tame. Most of the expense went on her dress, flowers – 50,000 of them to be precise – and a fireworks display at the end of the night. They split five years later.

12. Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom – $1 million

This pair planned their wedding in just nine days, marrying within a month of meeting. But their wedding was still pretty extravagant, held in Beverly Hills with Khloe wearing a custom-made Vera Wang gown. She filed for divorce in December last year.

11. Madonna and Guy Ritchie – $1.5 million

Most of the budget went on Madonna’s $80,000 Stella McCartney dress, as well as the booking of an entire Scottish castle for the nuptials. They split eight years later.

10. Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman – $2 million

The pair hired a private vineyard and a 14-piece orchestra for the ceremony, with Christina in a designer gown and Christian Louboutin heels. The reception went on until 5.00 a.m. They split five years later.

9. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes – $3 million

TomKat hired out a 15th century Italian castle for their nuptials and invited serious A-Listers including Will and Jada Smith, David and Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Lopez. Katie wore a custom-designed Giorgio Armani wedding dress and guests were treated to an expensive fireworks display. They split five years later.

8. Liza Minnelli and David Gest – $4.2 million

Probably the most star-studded wedding of all time, Michael Jackson was Best Man and Elizabeth Taylor was Maid of Honour at David and Liza’s nuptials. Almost 1,000 guests attended the ceremony which included a 50-piece orchestra and 12 tier wedding cake. The pair split a year later.

7. Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky – $4.8 million

The happy couple forked out $750,000 for catering, $11,000 for the cake, $250,000 in jewellery, $600,000 for air-conditioned tents and $500,000 in flowers.

6. Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel – $6.5 million

Justin and Jessica booked an entire Italian hotel for their friends and family and paid to close down the surrounding buildings in a bid to avoid the paparazzi.

5. Wayne and Coleen Rooney – $7.7 million

Wayne and Coleen flew their family and friends out to Italy for four days of celebrations which cost over $1.5 million alone, including a party on a $120 million yacht. Coleen spent $300,000 on her dress and $140,000 on trips to New York for fittings. They also spent $660,000 for a performance from Coleen’s favourite band, Westlife.

4. Michael Jordan and Yvette Prieto – $10 million

300 guests watched Michael and Yvette marry, before being entertained by Robin Thicke and Usher. The pair chose a seven-layer, crystal encrusted rum wedding cake, and her designer dress was made with handmade silk lace created especially for her.

3. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries – $10 million

The pair blew $10,000 on invitations, $6,000 on cake, $2 million on flowers, $2.5 million on Kim’s diamond head-dress and invited 500 guests.
Kim also wore three Vera Wang dresses on the day, which was filmed for a two-part, four-hour reality TV special.
Kim ended the marriage 72 days later.

2. Petra Ecclestone and James Stunt – $20 million

The pair married in a Medieval town in Italy which was closed down for the big day. A castle was hired for the occasion, costing $512,000. Petra wore a Vera Wang dress costing $1.3 million. Guests were treated to $6,000 a bottle champagne, an acrobatic display, $165,000 worth of fireworks as well as performances from Black Eyed Peas and David Guetta, who were paid $2.5 million ant $800,000 respectively.

1. Prince William and Kate Middleton – $34 million

It’s estimated that security on the day cost $32 million, with the rest of the money being spent on flowers ($800,000) food ($150,000) and champagne ($60,000).
Kate’s Welsh gold wedding ring cost a rumoured $11,000.
