COLUMBUS – By Sunday morning, Buckeye receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. might need to clear a lot of shelf space.
He took home the nation’s top prize for a collegiate receiver on Friday evening and will be in New York Saturday night where the winner of the Heisman Trophy will be announced.
LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, Oregon’s Bo Nix and Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. are the other three finalists for college football’s most coveted honor. Daniels is the favorite.
Harrison on Friday was named the winner of the Biletnikoff Award from the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, which honors the nation’s most outstanding receiver.
He is just the second Buckeye ever to win the award, joining Terry Glenn, who earned the honor in 1995.
Harrison finished the regular season with 67 receptions for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns, second-most in the country, ninth in receiving yards per game with 100.9 and total receiving yards, and third in 100-yard receiving games.
