Jared McCann had a goal and an assist, Brandon Tanev also scored, and Oliver Bjorkstrand had two assists as Seattle extended its point streak to three games (2-0-1).
Joey Daccord stopped 30 shots.
Yegor Chinakhov scored twice in the third period for Columbus, and Daniil Tarasov had 23 saves.
The Blue Jackets have lost seven of their last nine games (2-5-2).
Laine enters the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program
Blue Jackets forward Patrik Laine is entering the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program.
The league and union announced that Laine will be away from the team indefinitely while he receives care.
Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen says Laine has the organization’s full support.
The 25-year-old from Finland has acknowledged struggling with mental health at points in his professional career.
He hasn’t played since breaking his left clavicle during a game in mid-December.
