2 arrested in teen’s slaying

COLUMBUS – Two men are in jail on murder charges following a shooting on the Southeast Side Tuesday that left a teenage boy dead.

Officers dispatched to the 1700 block of Holburn Avenue on a report of a shooting at 4:41 p.m. found 17-year-old Josiah Sims suffering from a gunshot wound, Sgt. Scott LeRoy of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.

Sims died just before 5:20 p.m. at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center.

Angelo Bowers, 44, and Roy Hairston, 64, were charged with murder and taken to the Franklin County Jail, LeRoy said.
