COLUMBUS – Police are looking for two brothers they say killed a man during a fight in an alley in Italian Village last month.
UPDATE 7/14/23 6:36 a.m.: Police have announced that the Mickens brothers have been apprehended and are currently in the Franklin County Jail
Michael Robert Mickens Jr., 26, and his 24-year-old brother, Micheal Robert Mickens III, have both been charged with murder in the shooting death of Isiaha Thompson-Angus, 29, during a fight in the parking lot of a business in the 900 block of N. 4th Street early on the morning of June 19, Sgt. James Marable of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
Surveillance video showed Thompson-Angus fighting with one of the men near some the dumpsters at approximately 2:24 a.m. when another man and a woman appear on the scene and the second man reaches into his front pocket before joining the fight, Marable said.
At 4:17 a.m., a passerby reported a man’s body lying near the dumpsters and officers responding to the report found Thompson-Angus, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Marable says anyone who knows the whereabouts of either of the Mickens brothers is asked to contact police Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730
Two charged in deadly double shooting
Detectives are still looking for a third suspect in a deadly South Side shooting incident over a month ago.
James Dukes-Johnson, 27, and 19-year-old Mareese Davis have been charged with murder and felonious assault in the drive-by shooting on May 31, where two men were gunned down in a parking lot in the 1900 block of Lockbourne Road, Marable said.
Both men are currently in the Franklin County Jail while a third suspect, 21-year-old Michael Davis Jr., remains at large, Marable said.
Marable says Adrian Smith, 39, and another man were standing in the parking lot of a business when several occupants of a vehicle began shooting at Smith, who was killed at the scene.
The 31-year-old man who was a customer at the business was in the line of fire and was also struck. The man drove himself from the scene to an address on Linwood Avenue where he called for help and was taken to a hospital in stable condition, Marable said.
Anyone with information regarding the incident or the whereabouts of Michael Davis Jr. is asked to contact police at 614-645-4730.
