COLUMBUS – Amid concerns about safety and declining visitor traffic in the Short North, the city of Columbus has added more than a dozen ridesharing pickup locations and extended hours for pickup in the neighborhood.
Through a partnership with the Short North Alliance, COTA, Lyft and Uber, the city will designate a total of 15 no-parking zones will be designated for rideshare pickup use from midnight to 4:00 a.m. daily on High St between Goodale Street and 5th Avenue. (See map)
Nine of the rideshare zones will be located at COTA stops where bus service ends by midnight.
City officials say a pilot program launched in summer 2022 with eight designated pickup zones to improve safety during late-night hours in the district was successful.
