LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Jhonkensy Noel’s grand slam was the highlight of an offensive explosion by the Clippers as they opened a six-game series in Louisville with a 13-4 win over the Bats Tuesday night.
Noel also scored on Juan Brito’s two-run home run in the second inning, when Columbus plated five runs, three of them on a homer by Lorenzo Cedrola.
Johnathan Rodriguez added a solo homer in the third.
Bryan Lavastida went 3-for-5 and scored twice.
Ben Lively (1-0) pitched 5 1/3 innings for the win.
