LOUISVILLE – Daniel Schneemann and Jhonkensy Noel hit two-run home runs and reliever Jaime Barria survived a ninth-inning rally as the Clippers beat the Louisville Bats, 7-5, Saturday at Louisville Slugger Field.
Schneemann’s and Noel’s homers helped Columbus take a 7-2 lead into the ninth when Michael Trautwein’s bases-loaded double with two outs brought in two runs and Erik González scored from third on Barria’s wild pitch.
The right-hander snuffed out the rally by getting Mike Ford to fly out to center field.
Nic Enright (1-0) pitched the sixth inning for the win.
