Clippers rally for first win

COLUMBUS – The Clippers scored all four of their runs in the ninth and 10th innings and beat the Charlotte Knights 4-3 at Huntington Park Thursday night for their first win of the season.

Charlotte was leading when Roman Quinn scored on a sacrifice fly to left field by Richie Palacios and Tyler Freeman doubled home Jhonkensy Noel with the tying run.

The knights retook the lead on a wild pitch by Philip Diehl (1-0) but Noel knocked home the winning run when a grounder to short brought Micah Pries and Brayan Rocchio home with the tying and winning runs.

Lane Ramsey (0-1) took the loss for the Knights.

The two teams resume their series with a doubleheader at 4:15 p.m. Friday.
