COLUMBUS – The Clippers and the Omaha Storm Chasers split a doubleheader Thursday, with Columbus taking the first game, 3-0, and the Storm Chasers winning the nightcap, 5-4.
Jaime Barria (1-0) got the win in relief as Clippers pitchers combined for nine strikeouts and Daniel Schneemann scored two runs for Columbus in the first game, which was a makeup for Tuesday’s night’s scheduled game, which was postponed because of inclement weather.
Micah Pries knocked in two runs and scored in the Clippers’ three-run sixth inning, which gave them a brief 4-3 lead before Logan Porter hit a two-run home run in the seventh to give the Storm Chasers the win.
