COLUMBUS – John Glenn Columbus International Airport is getting a new terminal in the nick of time.
On the heels of the busiest month on record at Columbus airports, the 196,000 passengers that traveled through John Glenn International and the Rickenbacker Passenger Terminal the week of March 18 set a new all-time record, breaking the previous record set the week of July 15, 2019, Columbus Regional Airport Authority officials said.
February saw a record 629,621 passengers traveling through the airports, breaking the previous February set in 2020.
Work on the new $2 billion terminal is expected to begin later this year and be completed by 2029.
The one-million-square-foot facility will provide more gates, larger holdrooms, and additional food service options.
The new terminal will be able to service more than 13 million passengers a year.
