COLUMBUS – Police are searching for a man they say shot another man to death Friday afternoon during an argument in East Linden.

Rapheal Jones and Sir Robert Martin-Sydnor were arguing in the the 1900 block of Denune Avenue at approximately 1:39 p.m. when Martin-Sydnor, 28, pulled a gun and shot the 32-year-old Jones, who died later at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, according to Sgt. James Marable of the Columbus police Homicide Unit.
Martin-Sydnor was last seen running from the scene and may have taken a backpack that belonged to Jones, Marable said.
Martin-Sydnor is believed to be homeless and was living most recently in a broken-down vehicle parked near where the murder occurred, Marable said.
Detectives have filed a warrant charging Martin-Sydnor with murder and anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to contact police.

Teen dies in Franklinton shooting

Investigators have not released any information about a suspect in a shooting that left a 16-year-old boy dead in a West Side alley Saturday afternoon.
Officers dispatched to the 100 block of N. Guilford Avenue at approximately 3:38 p.m. on a report of a shooting found Jarrell Russell suffering from gunshot wounds, Sgt. Dave Harrington of the Homicide Unit said.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Columbus Division of Fire paramedics, Harrington said.
The preliminary investigation indicates the shooting stemmed from an argument.
The investigation is ongoing and Harrington says the name of the person of interest is being withheld pending further investigation.
