COLUMBUS – A man and woman have been arrested and charged with the murder of a man whose burned body was found in a wooded area on the South Side in July.
Robert Beine, 42, and Miranda King, 24, Were arrested Thursday by the U.S. Marshal Service Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team on charges related to the death of William Hamblin, whose burned body was found in a wooded area in the 1600 block of S. High Street early in the morning of July 8, according to Sgt. James Marable of the Columbus police Homicide Unit.
Beine and King were charged with murder and abuse of a corpse, Marable said.
Fatal East Side shooting
A 34-year-old man was killed in a shooting Thursday morning, police said.
Eric Sankey was found unresponsive and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound at 10:36 a.m. in the 600 Block of S. Everett Avenue, Sgt. David Shimberg of the Homicide Unit said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are still attempting to determine the circumstances surrounding this incident, Shimberg said.
