COLUMBUS – A teen is reportedly facing additional charges following the death of a person who was injured in an accident involving a stolen Kia sedan on the Far West Side Saturday.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was driving a Honda Civic northbound on Hilliard-Rome Road just after 1:30 p.m. when it was struck by a stolen Kia Optima with four juveniles inside, which had run the stop sign while westbound on Beacon Hill Road, Franklin County Sheriff Dallas Baldwin said.
The two vehicles came to rest in a yard and the driver of the Honda was taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center where they died Wednesday morning, according to broadcast reports.
The four occupants of the Kia were taken to Doctors West Hospital, Baldwin said.
Reportedly, the 15-year-old who was behind the wheel of the Kia will face additional charges, sheriff’s office sources said.
