ORIENT — Although official do not suspect foul play, an investigation is underway into the cause of a fire that claimed the lives of an adult man and two boys in Orient.
The joint investigation is being conducted by the Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigation Bureau, the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office and the county Coroner’s Office, according to the fire marshal’s office.
A 55-year-old man, and two minors, age 17 and 10, died in the fire early on Tuesday morning at the home on Ballah Road in Darby Township in Pickaway County.
The Tri-County Joint Fire District, Sterling Joint Ambulance District, as well as Scioto Township, Pleasant Township, Jackson Township, Harrison Township, Jefferson Township, and Range Township Fire departments responded to the fire, which broke out shortly after midnight.
Investigators report there is no indication of foul play, but the cause of the fire is currently undetermined as the investigation proceeds.
