COLUMBUS – Police have not yet named a suspect in a deadly shooting on the East Side Saturday afternoon.
Officers responding to a report of gunfire in the 600 Block of S 22nd Street just after noon found James Jones in the rear of this location suffering from a gunshot wound, Sgt. David Shimberg of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
Jones, 36, was taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center where he died less than an hour later despite receiving life-saving medical care, Shimberg said.
The incident likely stemmed from an altercation with another individual, Shimberg said.
