COLUMBUS – Police say the second suspect in a deadly 2020 double shooting has been arrested.
Gvon Thornton, 29, was arrested Wednesday on a murder charge in connection with the shooting on the East Side, that left a 21-year-old man dead and another man injured, Sgt. Michael Smith of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
Thornton and two other men were indicted on Dec. 14 in the shooting death of Dalan Wellman near the intersection of E. 5th and Joyce Avenues on July 26, 2020, Smith said.
Saidou Sarr, 19, was also injured in the shooting.
Marquis Smith and Aaron Clark, who were indicted along with Thornton, were already in jail when Thornton was arrested.
