COLUMBUS – A Franklinton couple have been charged with child endangering after a 2-year-old in their care suffered cardiac arrest, which police say will result in long-term health problems.
Arrest warrants have been filed for Angel Foster-Burks, 30, and Clayton Burks, 34, on felony charges in connection with the incident on Feb. 4, when the child was brought to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in cardiac arrest and was not expected to survive, Sgt. David Shimberg of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
The toddler did survive, although Shimberg on Wednesday said she will experience long-term health complications as a result of the injuries she suffered at a home on Glenwood Avenue.
Anyone with any information about the incident asked to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).
