COLUMBUS — The Columbus Fury hosted the first-ever professional women’s volleyball match in Ohio at Nationwide Arena Wednesday night and notched a 3-1 victory over the Omaha Supernovas in front of 9,000 fans.

Columbus (1-2) won the match 25-12, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-23.

With the fourth set tied at 18, Columbus went on a 3-0 run on a kill from Samantha Drechsel, a block from Rainelle Jones and a kill from Reagan Cooper to take a 21-18 lead and open a margin Omaha (4-3) could not close.
