COLUMBUS – Columbus police say a brother stabbed his sister to death in a home on the Hilltop Sunday night, capping a violent weekend in Columbus.
Officers dispatched to a stabbing in the 1900 block of Vaughn Street at 9:22 p.m. found Rhonda Jones, 66, inside a home suffering from multiple stab wounds, Sgt. David Shimberg of the homicide unit said. She was taken to a local hospital, where she died just before 10:00 p.m.
Michael Wright, 69, was taken into custody a short distance from the scene and charged with murder and was placed under guard at a hospital at this time, Shimberg said.
Initial information indicates that this incident stems from a domestic situation and Division of Police Chief Elaine Bryant announced during a media briefing Monday that the two were brother and sister.

The was the 12th domestic violence-related homicide in Columbus this year, Bryant said.
