COLUMBUS – A 30-year-old man is facing criminal charges after investigators determined that he was the suspect who punched a woman’s dog and threatened to shoot her outside her home last month.
Miquan Feaster contacted police on Thursday and, after questioning him, detectives charged him with aggravated menacing and discharging a firearm outside the home of a 27-year-old woman in the 2000 block of Fairwood Avenue on Nov. 26, Det. Sean Noltemeyer of the Property Crimes Bureau said.
The victim told police she was inside her home when she heard a gunshot outside and, when she went outside to check on her dog, she saw Feaster punching the dog while holding a gun, Noltemeyer said.
When the victim asked Feaster if he had shot at her dog, he raised the handgun and pointed it directly at her, threatening to come back and shoot her, Noltemeyer said.
After he contacted police, Feaster’s “involvement and identity were corroborated” by investigators, Noltemeyer said.
Police records show that Feaster had previously been charged with domestic violence and assault stemming from an incident in 2018.
