COLUMBUS – Police say a man called to confess to a fatal shooting on the West Side Sunday night.

Hassan Abdalla was arrested on a murder charge shortly after he called the Columbus police radio room to confess that he had shot 21-year-old Said Arbo to death inside an apartment in the Wedgewood Village complex, Sgt. David Shimberg of the homicide unit said.
Officers dispatched to the 700 Block of Wedgewood Drive at 9:48 p.m. on a reported shooting found Abdo inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Shimberg said.
Abdalla called the radio room and the 20-year-old man told police he was on Briggs Road and wanted to turn himself in for the shooting, Shimberg said.
He was apprehended and charged with murder. His statements are still under review and the incident remains under investigation, Shimberg said.
Woman, released on bail, now charged with murder after victim dies
Police are looking for a 38-year-old woman who was released from jail on bond before the man she allegedly shot died, Sgt. Edward Powell III of the homicide unit said.
Heather Taylor was initially charged with felonious assault on the night of April 19, when Antron Pointer was shot in the 3000 Block of Knightway Lane.
Madison Township paramedics took the 41-year-old Pointer to a local hospital, where initial reports from medical personnel indicated he was likely to survive, though Powell says he died on April 21.
Taylor was able to post bond prior to Pointer’s death, so the case has been taken over by homicide detectives, who upgraded the charges to murder and issued another arrest warrant, Powell said.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call the Columbus police homicide unit at 614-645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477).
