COLUMBUS – Police are hoping nearby surveillance cameras will provide clues to whover shot two men, one of them fatally, in a moving car on a South Linden street early Thursday morning.
UPDATE 1/13/24 7:54 a.m.: The victims in this incident have been identified as Tay Robinson, 21, and a juvenile whose name has not been released.
Tay Robinson, 21, was shot while riding in a white Chevrolet Malibu in the 900 Block of East 19th Avenue at approximately 5:05 a.m. when they were shot, according to Sgt. Dave Harrington of the Columbus police Homicide Unit.
The Malibu kept moving, striking several parked cars before coming to rest in the 900 block of E. 21st Avenue, where the victims were found by officers responding to the report of a shooting, Harrington said.
Robinson and a male juvenile whose name was not released were taken to a local hospital where Robinson died just after 5:30.
The juvenile is expected to survive, Harrington said.
Detectives are asking anyone in the area with exterior cameras to review their video and contact the Columbus Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730 if they believe they have footage or any information related to the incident, Harrington said.
