COLUMBUS – A man and woman are dead as a result of a murder-suicide inside a vehicle on the Northeast Side Thursday night.
Ali Dirir, 23, and Asia Mussi, 22, were found in a vehicle in the 5300 block of Valley Lane East at 6:14 p.m. by Columbus police officers responding to a report of a shooting, Sgt. James Marable of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
UPDATE 8/18/23 3:26 p.m.: The preliminary ruling from the Franklin County Coroner’s Office states that the couple’s deaths were the result of a murder-suicide.
The investigation revealed that the two were seated in a parked vehicle when Dirir shot Mussa, then turned the weapon on himself, Marable said.
Officers rendered first aid to both victims until paramedics arrived and took Mussa to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital where she died at 6:49 p.m.
Dirir was also taken to Riverside where he died at 9:30 p.m., Marable said.
The circumstance around the shooting are under investigation.
