COLUMBUS – Police made 32 arrests and seized illegal weapons and drugs during an overnight sweep in two Columbus neighborhoods Friday night.

More than 30 people were arrested, 15 illegal guns were recovered, and more than $44,000 worth of drugs were seized during the sixth “Operation Unity” crackdown, aimed at rounding up violent offenders, recovering firearms, and confiscating illegal narcotics, police said.
A collaboration of law enforcement and social services, the operation focused on Driving Park and the Short North from early Friday until early Saturday. September 23, 2022, to 4 a.m. on Saturday
Patrol officers, criminal intelligence units, major crimes detectives, SWAT officers, drug crimes units, traffic operations units, and other local and state agencies served search warrants and arrested offenders, including 10 alleged felons, and confiscated more than 200 grams of cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine, as well as cash and weapons, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
Along with police, personnel from the City Attorney’s Office, Code Enforcement office, Columbus Public Health, the Ohio Investigative Unit, and the Rapid Response Emergency Addiction Crisis Team took part in the operation.
