Parents warned about daycare worker arrested on sex assault charge

COLUMBUS – Police in Westerville are encouraging families to contact them if they are concerned that their children may have came into contact with a man who has worked at daycare facilities around central Ohio and has now been charged with sexual assault.

David Cantrell was arrested this week on a charge of gross sexual imposition based on a complaint from a daycare and preschool and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, according to Lt. Justin Alloway of the Westerville Division of Police.

Cantrell was charged with gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony, based on a complaint from The Nest Schools daycare and preschool on Dempsey Road and to police by Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Alloway said.

Cantrell is known to have worked at daycare facilities around the Columbus area and Westerville police detectives encourage families who may be concerned about their children’s contact with him to contact police at 614-901-6881, via email at STEVEN.GRUBBS@WESTERVILLE.ORG .
