COLUMBUS – Police say the case of a fatal shooting at a home in South Linden will be turned over to prosecutors for consideration of any criminal charges.
UPDATE 10/01/23 8:47 a.m.: The Franklin County Coroner’s office identified the shooting victim as Delmar Ward, 35, police said.
Officers responding to a reported shooting in the 1400 block of E. Blake Avenue at 9:16 p.m. Friday found one man suffering from a gunshot wound, Homicide Unit Sgt. Scott LeRoy said.
The man, who had not been identified early Saturday, was pronounced dead at the scene, LeRoy said.
The initial investigation revealed the man may have been shot while intruding at the residence, detectives said.
The case will be presented to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s office for consideration of any charges.
The suspect’s name was not released.
This incident remains under investigation, police said.
