Hilliard food pantry fire under investigation

COLUMBUS -The state is investigating a fire that heavily damaged the Hilliard Food Pantry earlier this month.

The Division of State Fire Marshal’s Fire and Explosion Investigation Bureau is trying to determine the cause of the July 9 fire at the Life Community Church, 4400 Cemetery Road, Department of Commerce spokesman Andy Ellinger said.

The Norwich Township Fire Department battled the flames with mutual aid supplied by Columbus Division of Fire.

There were no injuries.

The food pantry is asking for donations from the community to replenish what was lost in the fire.

The Norwich Township Fire Department is collecting food and personal care donations at each of its three fire stations.
