Suspects in Italian Village shooting under arrest

COLUMBUS – Columbus police have caught up with two men facing charges in connection with a double shooting in Italian Village in July that left a man dead and sent his father to the hospital.

Levander Davis and De’Andre Davis, both 25, were charged with murder in the shooting death 31-year-old Roosevelt Carroll III in the 700 block of Kerr Street on July 5, Sgt. Edward Powell III of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.

The two were arrested by U.S. Marshals Service task force officers in the 3000 block of E 6th Avenue on Thursday and are currently incarcerated in the Franklin County Jail, Powell said.

Witnesses interviewed after the shooting told police there was a verbal dispute that escalated into the shots being fired, Powell said.
