COLUMBUS – An 18-year-old man is under arrest for a double shooting on the Northeast Side last night that left a teenager dead.

Police say Cayon Drake fired the shots that killed 16-year-old Jeremy Heglar and 19-year-old Antonie Moss, who were found in a crashed vehicle at the intersection of E. 11th Avenue and Rarig Avenue just before 9:00 p.m., Sgt. Edward Powell III of the Columbus police homicide unit said.
Officers dispatched to the area on a report of a shooting at 8:50 p.m. found Heglar and Moss suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Moss was pronounced dead at the scene and Heglar died about an hour later at a hospital, Powell said.
A 16-year-old girl who was in the vehicle told police the shooting happened in the 2000 block of on E 10th Avenue and Moss drove to the Rarig Avenue location before crashing the vehicle, Powell said.
Drake was charged with two counts of murder.
