COLUMBUS – Three people, including a 15-year-old girl, died in separate incidents on the West Side Monday, Columbus police said.

Officers responding to a reported burglary in the 5000 Block of Belmore Drive, west of Hilliard-Rome Road, at approximately 4:41 a.m. found Christopher Campos-Hernandez fighting with Jacob Stratton and a woman in the apartment, Sgt. Edward Powell III of the Columbus police Homicide Unit said.
Officers detained the 29-year-old Campos-Hernandez, who was treated at a local hospital for injuries he sustained prior to the officers’ arrival, Powell said.
Stratton, 24, died at a local hospital at 5:21 a.m. while the 53-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was treated for her injuries at a hospital and released, Powell said.
During the course of the investigation, Powell says a search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s residence where a third victim, identified as Christopher Campos-Hernandez, 25, was discovered and pronounced dead at the scene at 8:07 a.m. by Columbus paramedics.
Teen shot on Sullivant Avenue
Detectives are trying to locate video and evidence that will help them unravel what happened to a 15-year-old girl who was found outside in to the 4700 Block of Sullivant Avenue at 5:26 p.m. Monday, according to Sgt. David Shimberg of the Homicide Unit.
Officers found Maria Fernanda Guerra-Sandoval unresponsive and suffering from an unknown injury while responding to a report of an unknown female who did not appear to be breathing, Shimberg said.
Columbus Division of Fire personnel pronounced Guerra-Sandoval dead at the scene.
It is unclear how the girl was injured and the incident remains under investigation, Shimberg said.
