COLUMBUS – Ohio State will go for its second straight win over Michigan this fall. Not on the football field, but in the 42nd Annual Blood Battle between the two rivals.
The contest between Ohio State and Michigan runs from Oct. 25 until Nov. 22, with a series of 48 blood drives across the campus area, organizers say.

Ohio State won the competition in 2022 for the first time in five years so students, faculty, alumni and community members are encouraged to donate and defend the title.
Versiti Blood Center of Ohio hopes to collect a minimum of 1,500 units of blood, that will be available for patients at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
The competition and collaboration collected more than 3,100 pints of blood in 2022 and saved more than 9,000 lives, Versiti area vice president and director of donor services Danielle Falconer said.
