El Vaquero is celebrating 30 years!

This month, El Vaquero is celebrating its 30th anniversary! Over the past 30 years, El Vaquero has grown from a small family-owned business to a regional restaurant group with 19 locations, including 12 in central Ohio. April 20 is the official anniversary of when the first restaurant location opened. To celebrate, El Vaquero will offer 10oz margaritas of any flavor for $4.99 on April 20 at all locations if you’re dining in. Our friend Ruben with El Vaquero shows Mix listeners how to make their most popular of the margarita flavors, strawberry. El Vaquero’s margaritas are always handcrafted and freshly made to order. Plus, Ruben shows you how to make three more of El Vaquero’s popular drinks, including a Mezcalrita, Piña Rita, and El Vaquero’s new non-alcoholic Michelada. Watch the video below to get full recipes of each drink!

  • Mezcalrita – hand crafted and freshly made to order, the Mezcalrita features Bozal Mezcal and our secret lime recipe.
  • Strawberry 10oz Margaritaonly $4.99 during lunch/brunch (11am-2pm) – Montezuma tequila, quality strawberry syrup, house special mix, and fresh lime juice.
  • Piña Rita – Patron Silver, Cintronge Pineapple, fresh lime juice and a fresh jalapeno slice.
  • Non-Alcoholic Michelada – NA Corona and house made Michelada mix, and fresh lime juice.

Despite this growth, El Vaquero has remained committed to its roots and continues to prioritize quality and authenticity in its food. El Vaquero combines the freshest meats and seafood, colorful vegetables, and unique sauces and spices to create a tasty experience with each dish served. Mexican cuisine has become increasingly popular for brunch in recent years, with dishes featured in-studio today, like Huevos con Chorizo, the Burrito California, the Chicken Chimichanga, and Taco Salad gaining popularity!

  • Huevos con Chorizo: featuring two eggs scrambled with Mexican pork sausage served over corn tortillas and topped with mild red sauce. Served with tortillas. This dish pairs well with our Michelada.
  • Burrito California (April menu feature): filled with slow roasted beef barbacoa, Mexican rice and refried beans, with cheese sauce on top and is served with lettuce, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo.
  • Chicken Chimichanga: features beef or chicken in a crispy flour tortilla shell with cheese sauce, lettuce, sour cream, and tomato. A light option for lunch!
  • Taco Salad: features two soft or fried chimichangas and topped with cheese sauce. Served with Mexican rice and refried beans, guacamole salad, tomato and sour cream.

Looking ahead, all El Vaquero restaurants will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo with $3.99 beers (Modelo, Negra Modelo, Corona, Corona Light, Premier, Pacifico). Check VaqueroRestaurant.com for the latest updates & offers along with locations, hours, and a full menu.
